KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 3/6
YES! We still have plenty of snow! We can’t keep up with the messages, calls and texts asking how the trails survived yesterday’s weather. Grooming operations had to be TEMPORARILY suspended last night.
Groomer operators are back out turning that Groomer Tracker map green again! After yesterdays ice storm, areas of the Keweenaw, reported receiving anywhere from 3-6 inches of fresh snow. Currently there are flurries across the area.
SO many of you did not let a little….well, truthfully, quite a bit of ice….stop you from riding! Nick & Morgan were even engaged out at High Rock Bay during the ice storm!
We are sharing some of the many photos that were sent in from riders enduring yesterday’s conditions and making the best of it!
Trails north of Mohawk were reported to be in good condition today, with trails south of Mohawk reported as pretty rough. Groomer operators are out trying to cover the entire trail system and trails should be back in shape by tomorrow.
Tuesday’s forecast includes a bit of a warm up and then temps are forecasted to drop way down again after that with a bit of fresh snow fall. Welcome to spring riding conditions….. riders should be aware that on days when temps are too warm or snow consistency is not conducive to grooming, that grooming operations will be temporarily suspended until the temps drop back down.

We are sending all groomers out tonight. Kenny is heading out right now to do my south end run. Also groomer #4 is heading down from Mohawk to Hancock here shortly. The others will be heading north out of Mohawk here shortly.
