Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/14

Unusual report for today. I usually do these first thing in the morning but I won`t have time tomorrow morning to do it…so here ya go……
12 degrees right now at 1630 and its been snowing on and off all day. I`d say about 2 inches today so far and we picked up 4-5 inches last night….YAY!!!!
Got some bad news for ya…..bummer. On my south run last Friday I broke down. Turns out the drive hub on one side let loose. Stranded me for 3 hrs in da woods before Kevin could finish his run and come and rescue me and tow me back to da barn. Da Boss (Mike) has been on the phone since to get parts, hopefully get them within a week but that might be dreaming. Nuff bad news,here`s some good…..
It is snowing and it is gonna stay cold. We have a plan to try and keep up with only 2 machines, we`ve been there done that before. If you run across a bad section, sorry, it will be better tomorrow and the other sections will be done. I thought we did good this weekend with the surprise breakdown Friday. The plan for tomorrow is Mike runnin the Stump trail #8 and me runnin the South trail #8 then Gerald hot seating me and runnin the Falls trail #45. The Point trails will get done Tuesday.
All I have for now. I`ll give you another one on the 16th. Wish us luck for gettin parts fast.

The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall.
Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot.
Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #traversecity #petoskey

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> So we closed the gates today around town and on charcoal grade we also opened up the water way crossing the grade the falls gate and out to 3 mile on Trail 9 and also the ones on the south trail around town are closed sad day We truly appreciate each and everyone of you for spending time and money in our community can’t thank you enough so god willing we will see you in December  so for now think Spring  #newberry #snowphotos
