Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/17
February 17, 2021
14 degrees this morning with a light snow in the air. We did pick up 2-3 inches last night too…..YAY!!!!! Got some REALLY good news for ya`s so read till the end. Here`s what went on yesterday as far as grooming goes……
Glenn ran the Point trails #452 and #453 and called them good. He did say there are a couple of sections that still are a little thin on snow and called it poor, but all in all these trails are good.
Mike C. and his wife (poor Mike again) ran the Falls trail #45 and called that good. She posted a bunch of videos on our FB page so check that out.
Dave M. is runnin the South trail #8 today and Zach is runnin the Stump trail #8 also today, and I think new guy Mike H. is gonna hit the Falls trail again after Dave M. is done. Now for the REALLY GOOD NEWS, ready……..?
Da boss (Mike C.) has been on the phone about 24/7 trying to get thru the red tape to get us our parts we NEED, and he was successful!!!!! They are coming outa Utah and are on the road as of last night, YAY!!!!! Best case they will be here by Thursday and we could have the groomer back on the trail by Friday. Realistically we are thinking by Monday. GREAT JOB MIKE C.!!!!!!!!

The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall.
Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot.
Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw #westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord #cadillac #traversecity #petoskey

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA Tahquamenon Area Snowmobile Association >> So we closed the gates today around town and on charcoal grade we also opened up the water way crossing the grade the falls gate and out to 3 mile on Trail 9 and also the ones on the south trail around town are closed sad day We truly appreciate each and everyone of you for spending time and money in our community can’t thank you enough so god willing we will see you in December  so for now think Spring  #newberry #snowphotos
