Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/14
February 14, 2022
4 degrees below zero this morning with a fairly clear sky. Man, its been cold the last few days with double digit below zero temps every morning and just single digit temps for highs! It is great for the trails in some ways and not so great in other ways. They hold up better with the high traffic we have had but they are kinda hard and icey in spots. I`ve heard of some people having cooling issues. We haven`t had any new snow in the last few days so that doesn`t help with that problem. It looks like we might get some later in the week though.
All our trails are rated at good to very good but are hard and a touch icey. They are pretty flat but we are having a hard time cutting the mogels out with them being so hard and not much new snow to work with. All machines are humming along and we are running a full schedule. I see we have a one day warm up coming this Wednesday with the temps hitting around 40 so we will hit the trails at wide open to get them nice and flat for when it cools right back down, and hopefully get a little fresh snow. If all this happens our trails will be awesome for next weekend!!

NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Halfway Lake Cottages, LLC >> When they closed the doctors offices last night because of conditions then we woke to about 6 inches of snow on top of ice, Chris decided to stay home. He spent 5 hours plowing then we went for a ride. We took 9 to Pine Stump and back and it was an amazing ride minus the sleeping child riding with me! We passed the groomer on the way there and on the way back! The picture of our backs is actually from the TASA page! Hey - itβs a family picture! π #newberry #snowphotos

You may have been one of the few groups I saw today. Pretty sure I saw you on 9 today. My favorite trail in Michigan but it has taken 5 of my helmets peaks this winter. I plan on doing some brushing this summer on 9.
