Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/09

23 degrees this morning and a light snow is falling.

This weather has been depressing also. We hit 40 yesterday and we haven`t got much new snow either. The weather guessers are calling for an inch here and there but not a whole lot coming our way. The temps are gonna drop like a rock so that will help….now on to the trails.

If you haven`t heard by now we had to close down the 3 mile section of our infamous swamp trail ( # 8 ) just south of town. It keeps opening up and some of the water holes are pretty deep. The DNR put out a press release yesterday. Go to our FB page and you can see that.

Everything else got groomed last night and is in fair to good shape. We will be working hard to get this swamp froze down again, but its going to take a good snow fall to do it.
I have lived UP here for 15 years now and have never seen a winter this bad, the Bay isn`t even froze!

Now, don`t get me wrong, all trails to the north and west are good to go, there`s plenty of ridin to be had, just getting south is going to be tricky for a few days. I hate fake winters…..FAKE WINTERS SUCK!

Keep checking back, I promise I`ll be more efficient on the updates.

Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 01/25

January 25, 2016
29 degrees this morning and cloudy. Looks like we are in for a few snow showers the next couple days but the temps are going to be on the warm side….highs around freezing and lows only in the 20`s. The weather guessers are calling for around 2-4 inches. Now on to the trails.
Trail #45 to the Falls is in fair shape.
Trail #8 going south and east is fair.
Trail #8 going north and west is good.
Trail #452 around the Point is good.
This warmer weather isn`t gonna help much but the snow will, keep checking back and I will keep you up to date. Now on to something thats on my mind.
This past weekend we had 4 serious accidents on the trails in our area, one was fatal. PLEASE people, slow down and enjoy your ride. The trails are NOT for playing ‘rickie racer’. If you want to do that go to a race track!!! There are many people and families out on our trails so have some respect!!! We do not have enough snow in the woods to play in the clear cuts yet, so people hitting stumps are a concern, stay on the trails for now. I also got a call from the road commision asking that I post something because the snowmobilers are running over their marker sticks on the side of the road. Most people don`t know what those little sticks are on the side of our roads UP here. They are marker sticks for the plows so they know where the side of the road is. Please don`t run them down. Well, all for now, be safe. Groomer Chris
