Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/29

February 29, 2016

Happy Leap Day everybody! We get one extra day to ride this year. This morning it is 23 degrees and snowing….hard.

It snowed and blowed all day yesterday. Its hard to tell how much snow we got cause of all the blowing but I`m guessing at least 6 inches, maybe 8. Groomer Dave stopped by on his way home from work in Newberry last night and said it looked like out by the Falls it was closer to 10. We are supposed to get another 3-6 today!!! That excellent word might come out again for the trails!

We left the groomers parked in the barn yesterday figuring we`ll let this snow come and get to it today. Everything will get groomed up today and tonight and I`ll let ya`ll know how things turned out tomorrow morning.

Like I said, I think that E word will come out. The temps are supposed to stay cold so this weekend should be fantastic!!! Come on UP, if you want to avoid the heavy weekend traffic, COME ON UP TODAY!!! The roads are all snow covered now so you will not have to trailer to a trail head. Keep checking back….but for now, I gots lots of work to do.

Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/28

February 28, 2016

20 degrees this morning and its snowing and a blowing. Looking at all the weather reports this morning on the computer it looks like we are supposed to get around 3 inches today and another 3 tomorrow.

The temps are supposed to be in the 20`s for highs and teens for lows all week…..looks like winter will be back for a week or so. We hit 45 degrees yesterday and the trails took a small hit……so here`s the story.

I talked to the groomers who ran last night and this is what they said.

Trail #45 to the Falls is good.
Trail #452 & #453 around the Point is good.
Trail #8 to Pine Stump is good.

I ran Trail #8 south and this is what I found. Our infamous swamp is still solid but I put it at poor. I didn`t break through any water holes but the snow is thin in there. The rest of the trail is good.

So if you are thinking about coming UP you will be good to go. The plowed roads are still bare, but if we can get this 6 inches or so it might get better so you don`t have to trailer to a trail head.

Keep checking back, I`ll let ya`ll know what we got for snow.
