Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/23

January 23, 2018

15 degrees this morning, windy and snowing lightly. Its really hard to tell how much snow we picked up yesterday and last night cause of the strong wind. I don`t have any fresh snow on my deck but the drifts in my parking lot are waist high. First thing this morning I had to go out and shovel around our cabin doors so people could get out. Some of that drifting was 4 ft. high. Now on to the trails……

The only one to run yesterday was Groomer Kevin to the best of my knowledge. He ran the Falls trail #45 and reported to me it turned out good to excellent. Didn`t make it out to the barn yesterday so I don`t know whats going on for today. I do know Groomer Mike spent the day on the phone trying to figure out what we are gonna do about our broke in two machine.

Thats all I know fer today.

LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!

Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/22

January 22, 2018

25 degrees this morning, cloudy and windy outa the NE. The weather guessers are still calling for some good snow UP here. Some counties are under a storm warning and some under an advisory. They are saying 3-6 inches of wet heavy snow for around here. This is what went on yesterday……

Groomer Gerald ran the Pine Stump trail #8 and called it fair.

Groomer Larry ran the Point Trails and called them fair.

Now, here`s something kinda cool. Groomer Jack called me yesterday afternoon and said he was bored and needed something to do. Larry had taken off really early (6 am) on the Point Trails so he was back at the barn pretty early, around 1 pm. Remember we only have 2 machines runnin right now and Gerald was out on the Stump trail. We had not planned to do anymore grooming for the day but I told him if he wanted to he could run south…..so he did!! I texted him a little later and suggested he skip the swamp section for fear of breaking it up cause of the warm weather but he "didn`t get the memo". Long story short, the swamp is still solid!! He did tell me there are a couple small water holes that opened up on the power line south of the river but no problem gettin around them on your sled…..just be careful and slow down. He rated the trail as a whole as fair. Thats it for the trail report but I want to mention something else while I`m on here.

I want to say THANK YOU for all the support on our FB page. The guys are seeing it and we do appreciate it. These darn warm ups, which seem to come on the weekends, are not helping our trails. I didn`t realize you all understood how much work we put in and we do take it to heart when the bashers complain but they don`t seem to understand. It is our worst nightmare when we jump into a machine and know the trails are hammered. We know its gonna be a long night for us and when we are done we are totally drained and sore. Again, THANK YOU from all of us!!!!

LET `ER SNOW today……HARD!!!!!
