Paradise Area Trail Report – 01/13

January 13, 2019

It was minus 2 degrees this morning when I crawled outa bed. It is blue sky and sunny now. No new snow the last few days. We sure could use more. We do still have a solid foot + on the ground. Here`s how things went this weekend…….

It was pretty busy in town, lots of sleds out and about. One thing I want to mention. When coming thru town SLOW DOWN!!!!! It is only a couple miles so be cool. Also, YOU yes YOU must yield the right of way to people coming out of their driveways. We had a problem this weekend and the law had to be called. So, come on folks, just be cool coming thru town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Groomer Mike did run the Pine Stump trail #8 Friday evening. He called it fair with some good spots and some thin spots. From Crisp Point thru Siberia was pretty thin on snow but the rest was decent.

Now, yesterday, Groomer Kevin ran the Point trails #452 and #453 and called them good. Groomer Jack ran the Falls trail #45 and said it was really beat up but got it smoothed out really good. Everything is froze up solid now on this trail. I ran the south trail out of town on #8. It also was pretty beat up but turned out pretty good after I went thru. I got the ditches filled in better so I`ll rate that one as good.

Groomers Mike, Gerald, Kevin and hopefully someone else are heading into the swamp south of town as I write this. They are taking 2 machines and no drags to go check it out. I`ll let you know tomorrow morning how that goes.

Soooo….if you are thinking about coming UP….I say GO FOR IT!!!! The trails are in pretty good shape but we could use another foot of snow.

All fer today.

LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Groomer Chris

Paradise Area Trail Report – Paradise Area Night Riders – 01/11

Janaury 11, 2019

12 degrees this morning and partly cloudy. No new snow last night,we do have a solid foot on the ground though. Here`s how things went yesterday…….

Groomer Kevin ran the Point trails #452 and #453. He actually called it beautiful with no water problems. He did mention to me that the loggers have Widewaters road plowed for about 6 miles though. I`ll try to find out how long they plan to be in there.

Groomer Gerald took the Falls trail #45 last night. He called it fair with a few wet spots but very passable. Just be careful on this trail and keep your heads up in the wet areas…..they are signed as such.

Groomer Dave M. ran south of town on trail #8. He skipped the swamp just south of town cause we haven`t been in there yet. We`ll get in there this weekend. He rated the rest of the trail as fair with just a couple of wet spots. We need to work on sections of the trail that run along side the road in the ditches. He ran out of snow to fill them in.

Groomer Mike is heading to Pine Stump on trail #8 today.

Thats it for today. Remember the trails aren`t perfect so take it easy out there!!!

LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Groomer Chris
