Paradise Area Trail Report – 03/01

March 1, 2018

32 degrees this morning and cloudy. We did hit 40 yesterday but it stayed cloudy so we didn`t loose a lot of snow. Just FYI, we still have a solid 2 1/2 foot of snow on the ground.

Groomer Mike was the only one to hit the trails yesterday. He ran the Stump trail and told me all in all its still in good shape. The plowed section from the loggers is still rideable and should at least last the weekend. Not sure what`s being run today cause I still haven`t made it out to the barn but something will get run.

We are still waiting for parts for the other machines. The hydraulic pump on the one was bad and they shipped out a new one yesterday, we should have it by tonight or tomorrow and we`ll get `er back together asap. Still haven`t heard a word about the injector pump.

If you`re thinking about heading UP this weekend…..DO IT!!!! Things won`t be perfect but you`ll get in some good miles. Just think late season ridin`.

Stay tuned, I`ll keep you up to date.

Groomer Chris

Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/28

February 28, 2018

It was 30 degrees this morning when I got up. It is now 36 at 10 am. We picked up about 1 inch of snow last night. It is supposed to get only in the mid 30`s today and down in the 20`s tonight.

Sorry about yesterdays report and sounding so negative. I`m just tired about all this bs and the machines breaking down every time we turn around…..it wears on us….and we all feel the same.

Looking on our FB page it sounds like I scared alot of people away for this weekend cause I sounded like our trails are done. This is far from the truth!!! Our trails are in decent shape, I was just giving you a heads up on the plowed sections from the loggers and the dirt roads you have to use to get into the trails. As you all know that follow me I am brutally honest and don`t want you to be disappointed when you show up…..I will NEVER sugar coat anything!!!! I was not suggesting everyone head west, in fact, you probably won`t find any better conditions that way either. They are gettin the same weather we are.

We are still waiting for the injector pump for our one machine. Hopefully that comes before the weekend. On the other machine that broke down just an FYI it is the hydraulic pump that runs the drag and plow blade. The machine still runs fine but we can`t do anything with it. We sent the pump out yesterday to get looked at. The new machine is still runnin fine.

As far as the trails go…this is what this report is supposed to be about……Groomer Gerald ran the Falls trail last night and called it fair. I think we are hittin the Pine Stump trail today and one other….just not sure which one. I was busy around here and never made it out to the barn yesterday.

This weekend should still be ok, just don`t expect perfect. Kinda like late season ridin. We are doing all we can with what we got!!!!
